Configuring devices to remain on when switching between Activities will avoid unwanted power offs so that, as an example, both the Watch TV Activity (in the living room) and Listen to Music Activity (on the patio) can run and be controlled simultaneously. To run more than one Activity at a time it is necessary to change your devices power settings to remain powered on when switching between Activities. For example, when switching from your Watch TV Activity to your Listen to Music Activity, Harmony will power off the devices that are not used by both Activities (in this example, the television and set top box would power off). When switching between Activities, Harmony, by default, will automatically turn off any devices that are not associated with the newly selected Activity. For both to work at the same time and without turning off devices in an Activity when switching back and forth between them, you must adjust your device’s power settings. For example, zone 1 could be part of your Watch TV Activity in the living room, while zone 2 is a Listen to Music Activity on the patio. To correctly use different zones simultaneously you must create an Activity for each zone.

  • But that can’t be found in ANY Harmony Elite documentation or support forums. Was about to re box everything and then I remembered an old way to pair remotes with hubs by holding menu and mute on the remote-THAT worked. Got a little further, but still got stuck at the point when the app and hub try to communicate with the remote.

Then, I dusted off an old Kindle Fire and attempted to set up using the android app. Because of this, Logitech has moved to a mobile app platform, sounds good, right? After hours of trying to set up my remote using my iPhone, I gave up. Due to recent OS security updates, the remotes are no longer able to be connected to MOST laptops to set the remotes and hubs up. If they just made the set-up more reliable, it would be perfect. HOWEVER, once you compete your journey, the result is a great, one-remote entertainment experience. All of them suffer from the same issue: limited setup support, dated documentation, extremely difficult set-up. I’ve had several Logitech smart remotes over the years. Great piece of tech-once you get it to work
